My Background

In 1991 I qualified as a Registered General Nurse at Southampton General Hospital and after working in medicine and surgery for a while, subsequently spent the following 20 years of my nursing profession working in Cancer Care. Much of this experience was gained in hospital settings, including the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre where I worked as a Chemotherapy Sister for 12 years.

But in 2013 I decided to leave the NHS and joined Penny Brohn UK, a cancer charity based in Bristol, as an Education and Training Manager. I used my clinical knowledge to educate staff and acted as a resource for advice, support and information on many cancer related issues.

Throughout much of this time my love and fascination of complementary therapies had a significant influence on my personal life, turning to reflexology when I was struggling to get pregnant. The reflexology sessions I received helped with my general sense of wellbeing and certainly re-established a degree of calm and balance in my life.

After working within healthcare for so many years, I was curious to find out how a therapy such as reflexology could be used to support and often improve someone's wellbeing. How could parts of the feet relate to the systems and organs of the body?. subsequently pursued a diploma in reflexology at the Bristol School of Holistic Therapies, qualifying in 2008 and became pregnant during the course!

A few years later I set up and developed my own complementary therapy business, practicing locally in Blagdon, North Somerset, where it has grown from strength to strength.

In 2017 I achieved a practitioner certificate in Indian Head Massage and in May 2020 successfully completed my teacher training in Mindfulness Meditation with distinction.

As a result I am now currently delivering face to face beginners mindfulness meditation to small groups around Blagdon and the local area.

Through my connections                             in healthcare, I was asked to return to the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre in 2016 to deliver complementary therapy to teenagers and young adults with cancer. The service was initially delivered as a pilot but because this exceeded all expectations, it achieved ongoing funding and continued to be offered to both patients and their supporters.

My Approach

My approach to all my therapies and practice is focussed around the whole person, aiming to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each individual.  An initial consultation process and ongoing assessment helps to provide a focus for each session, identifying specific areas where additional attention may be required.

The priority for all my clients is that they feel considered, comforted and supported during their treatment session and leave feeling relaxed, calm and happy.
